Welcome! For the past ten years, I have been helping people navigate difficult situations in their lives. Sometimes the difficulties have been due to personal choices, while at other times the difficulties came uninvited. I feel honored each time I am allowed to share in someone's story, and I feel challenged to provide the best possible care to my clients. I am a Registered Psychological Assistant (PSB 33961) working under the supervision of Luisa Johnson, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist (PSY 10299) in private practice. My work is primarily with adolescents and adults in individual therapy sessions. I frequently see clients who have difficulties with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, life transitions, and the effects of trauma. I have a collaborative approach to therapy, as I believe that people come to therapy with knowledge of what has and has not worked in their lives, personal values and dreams that will guide their progress, and strengths that can be built upon for overcoming their difficulties. The precise approach I use depends upon individual preferences and the concerns that are brought to therapy. I often help my clients learn new skills, become aware of persistent patterns of thinking and behaving, link thoughts with feelings, and identify directions for growth. Please explore this site in order to gain more information about my work history and areas of interest, office location, and some great resources for websites and local groups. Please contact me with any further questions or to discuss an initial appointment at (805) 338-8921.
